Help for Ukraine: (tech) initiatives

Free Ukraine Foundation along with UVCA has launched a program aiming to provide aid for startups and specialists that are a part of the Ukrainian startup community and whose innovative business needs help right now. The program needs continuing support so we welcome new sponsors!

RocketX have started an open-source job board, where Ukrainian professionals can sign up and get matched with scaleups all over Europe looking for talent. How it works? Ukrainian talent can sign up for the job board by providing their details, availability, desired role and location. Whereas scaleups looking for talent can sign up, and RocketX will make sure they get access to the job board. No promises, no strings, just relevant connections. Applying is completely free.

HirePort.org is a platform that collects and redistributes (for free) laptops to those affected by the war in Ukraine. If you wish to donate laptops, please follow the below link to their website.

To stop censorship and fight misinformation during the ongoing Ukraine crisis, an Amsterdam-based software company - Surfly has enabled access to informational websites that have been blocked in Russia. This has taken shape in the form of Opensight – an open service accessible in Russia providing access to news that has been censored in the region.

The aim of RefugeeHelp.nl is to help refugees who arrive in the by having one clear and central online platform where they can go for all relevant issues and needs such as shelter, food, medical care, legal help, work, education etc. This platform will also serve to give individuals, companies and institutions who want to contribute a place to do so.

Help380 is an ad hoc, volunteer team of some 30 developers, designers, marketeers, and growth hackers building a multilingual, international platform to assist in connecting help seekers and help givers during the Ukrainian war.

Blanco has set up a task force that is in close contact with people in contested areas. There is a pressing need for the relocation of people from Ukraine to safe places, job possibilities for Ukrainians, supply for humanitarian help, etc.  

Designers United for Ukraine is a collective, initiated by Guido Baratta, that helps designers impacted by the conflict in Ukraine reach safety and find new accommodation and work opportunities.

 Ivan Akcheurov, CTO at Relay Medical, has started the initiative to supply medical supplies to those in need in his home country of Ukraine. They deploy their own infrastructure to make sure the right products, of the right quality, will be received correctly by the right people. No middle-parties, no profit. You can contribute directly by donating (any amount helps) to a designated account.

QuantumDeltaNL together with partners has compiled an overview of all positions available for PhD & researchers from Ukraine.

Diagnose.me is delivering medical services (teleconsulting) for Ukrainians without costs.

Squla has decided to make the Polish version of their online learning platform freely available to the Ukrainian kids that had to flee their country and are now in Polish shelters or staying with Polish people.

Squla calls for NGOs to help them distribute access to Squla for these children.

Eyes on Ukraine are striving to get as many drones as possible in the air over the places in Ukraine where fighting is going on, so the truth will not perish in this war. If people are able to film on the spot with drones we can all see what is happening. As a result, it will become much more difficult to deny attacks on civilian targets or the use of cluster bombs.

Giro555 has launched a financial aid initiative aimed at supporting refugees and people in Ukraine. They are present in the area themselves or through local partners. They ensure that people on the run get shelter, water, and food. Giro555 also works on sanitation and medicine supplies. You can donate to the cause below

Any Ukrainian citizen with a business idea who wants to relocate can obtain a Dutch Startup Visa. If you have a startup (idea), you can set it up in the Netherlands. Ukraine’s citizens can come to the Netherlands for 90 days – within this timeframe, you will be provided with a suitable facilitator who will also make sure that you are here to stay for the duration of a Startup Visa year.
